Space Cadets: Away Missions
Space Cadets: Away Missions review
Space Cadets: Away Missions takes you back to the Golden Age of space exploration, where humanity faced an alien invasion. You play as members of the Rocket Patrol, fighting off hostile extraterrestrials in a variety of scenarios. The game is cooperative, so you'll need to work together to succeed.
I really enjoyed the game's theme and the way it captures the spirit of classic sci-fi. The components are great, with lots of detailed miniatures, and the gameplay is simple but engaging. The Overkill mechanic is a fun twist on the dice rolling system that provides a lot of options for strategic planning.
While some people found the game too simple or repetitive, I think the streamlining of the mechanics actually enhances the game. It's a quick-playing game that's perfect for a casual game night with friends or family. I especially liked the variety of scenarios, which keeps the game fresh and exciting.
There are a few things to note: the game can take a bit of time to set up, and the rulebook is a little dense. But once you get into the game, it's a real blast. I'd definitely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys cooperative games, sci-fi themes, and fun dice rolling mechanics.
