Star Trek: Frontiers review

I've been a huge fan of Star Trek for years, and when I saw this game I had to give it a try. The idea of a Star Trek-themed Mage Knight game really appealed to me, as I'm also a big fan of that game's complexity and strategic depth.

Star Trek: Frontiers is a solid game that really captures the feeling of being in command of a starship. The gameplay involves deck building, resource management, exploration, and combat, and it's all tied together with a Star Trek theme. The game is complex, but it's rewarding once you get the hang of it. I found the rules to be a bit overwhelming at first, but after a few plays I was able to grasp the basic mechanics. I'd recommend watching a few playthrough videos or reading some online guides before diving in, especially if you're new to Mage Knight-style games.

The game's components are excellent, and I especially enjoyed the miniatures and the beautifully illustrated cards. The inclusion of iconic Star Trek characters like Picard, Sisko, and Martok adds to the theme and makes the game even more enjoyable. I was a little disappointed that the game doesn't have any expansions yet, but I'm hopeful that WizKids will release some in the future.

Overall, I think Star Trek: Frontiers is a great game for fans of Star Trek and Mage Knight alike. If you're looking for a complex and rewarding game with a rich theme, I highly recommend checking this one out.
