Paleo
Paleo review
Paleo is a cooperative adventure game set in the stone age, where players work together to keep their tribe alive and complete various missions. The game is full of tension and surprises, as you never know what dangers you might encounter on your expeditions. The goal is to paint a mammoth on the wall, which is a fun, thematic objective, but you also need to survive along the way. I really enjoy the game's theme and the choices you have to make. It's a "push your luck" type of game, which I appreciate. The crafting system is thematic and fits the scenarios well. I'm not usually a fan of crafting in games, but I really like it here. The game is quick to play, with clear goals and a lot of interesting choices to be made. Overall, I think it's a fun game that offers a lot of replayability, with different modules that change the game each time you play.
The rules can be a little tricky to learn, but the game is easy enough to figure out once you've played a few times. I would recommend watching some tutorial videos if you're new to board games. The game is not cheap, but the quality of the components is great. I also think the game is worth the price if you can find it on sale.
The biggest issue I have with the game is the cardboard workshop and graveyard components. They are not very durable, and I'm worried that they will wear out quickly. I also wish there was a single board instead of three, but that's just a minor complaint. Overall, I think Paleo is a great co-op game that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.
