MicroMacro: Crime City
MicroMacro: Crime City review
I was really excited to get MicroMacro: Crime City, but I was disappointed to find that it's in Italian. I'm not sure why it wasn't clear in the description that it's the Italian version. There are a lot of reviews mentioning the same thing. The game mechanics rely on text cards, so you can't play it unless you read Italian. You can use Google Lens or other translation software, but it's a bit of a hassle.
The map itself is text-free, and it's huge! It's 75 x 110 cm / 29.5 x 43 inches and really draws you in. The map is incredibly detailed and there's so much to discover. The game is a cooperative experience, where you work together to solve the cases. Each case has a number of cards that ask you to find something on the map or uncover where someone has gone. It's really fun to try and figure out what happened. It's a bit like a real-life detective game.
I've read some reviews that say the game is amazing, and I can see why. The concept is unique and the map is beautiful. If you're a fan of detective games and don't mind the language barrier, I would definitely recommend it. However, if you're looking for a game to play with people who don't speak Italian, you might want to look elsewhere. It's a shame that this wasn't clear in the product description.
