Mind Space
Mind Space review
Mind Space is a game that really surprised me. The theme of achieving serenity by building a brain sounds a bit odd, but it actually works surprisingly well. The game is a bit abstract, but the core mechanics are simple: you're trying to fill your brain board with emotion tiles, which are shaped like polyominoes. You can only use certain colors each round, determined by dice rolls, and there are different ways to score points depending on the colors you use and how you arrange your tiles.
I found the game to be quite challenging, but in a good way. The dice rolls add a good dose of luck, but there's also a lot of strategy involved in deciding which tiles to use and where to place them. There's definitely an element of Tetris to it, especially when trying to fit all the tiles into your board.
The game rules can be a bit confusing at first, as another reviewer mentioned. I definitely had to play a few times to get a good grasp of everything. But once I did, I really started to enjoy the strategic depth. The game has a lot of replayability, too, as the combination of emotion tiles and colors changes each time.
Overall, I think Mind Space is a very unique and interesting game that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys abstract strategy games with a bit of luck involved. If you're looking for a game that's challenging but rewarding, and that will provide a different experience each time you play, then this might be the game for you.
