Marvel Zombies: Heroes' Resistance
Marvel Zombies: Heroes' Resistance review
Marvel Zombies: Heroes' Resistance is a cooperative board game that puts you in the shoes of Marvel heroes fighting against a zombie horde. It's based on the Zombicide game series, so you'll be familiar with the core mechanics if you've played those. This game is a great introduction to the Zombicide experience, without the hefty price tag of the larger versions.
I really enjoyed the game, and I'm a big fan of the Marvel universe. I was impressed with the quality of the components, especially considering the price. The miniatures are well-detailed, and the card stock is sturdy. The game is easy to learn, but it offers a lot of replayability thanks to the random zombie activation deck, choice of starting heroes, and randomized objective setup.
I was a little disappointed that there weren't more missions included, but I can see how that would be a space constraint. However, the 8 missions that are included are a good mix of difficulty levels, so there's something for everyone. I also like the fact that the game is relatively quick to set up and tear down, which is a big plus for me.
Overall, I would recommend Marvel Zombies: Heroes' Resistance to anyone who's a fan of cooperative board games, the Marvel universe, or Zombicide. It's a great value for the price, and it's a lot of fun to play.
