Zombicide: Undead or Alive
Zombicide: Undead or Alive review
I recently got my hands on Zombicide: Undead or Alive, and let me tell you, this game is a blast! As a fan of the Zombicide franchise, I was instantly drawn to the Wild West setting. The core box comes with a ton of beautifully sculpted miniatures, including survivors, zombies, and even a train! The game's theme is fantastic and really brings the Old West to life.
The gameplay is classic Zombicide, but with a few new twists. I especially enjoyed the new survivor types, like the Gunslinger and Brawler. The Balconies and Train mechanics add a nice layer of complexity and strategy. However, as some reviewers have pointed out, this game is definitely not for beginners. It's a bit more challenging than the other Zombicide games, and you might want to familiarize yourself with the basic mechanics first.
One thing I really appreciate about Undead or Alive is the replayability. You can play through the ten included missions, but the modular design of the game lets you create your own custom scenarios. And of course, there's the huge number of miniatures that you can paint and customize. If you're a miniature enthusiast, this game will keep you busy for hours!
While the price of the core set is a bit steep, I think it's well worth it. Especially if you're a fan of Zombicide and the Wild West theme. If you're unsure, you can always try out Marvel Zombies: Heroes' Resistance as a less expensive introduction to the Zombicide system.
Overall, I highly recommend Zombicide: Undead or Alive. It's a fun, challenging, and incredibly replayable game.
