Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave
Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave review
Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave is a fantastic expansion to the original Hostage Negotiator, and it's a great standalone game for solo players. The game is essentially a dice-rolling, card-playing, hand-building experience where you are tasked with negotiating with a hostage taker and rescuing the hostages. You'll need to make tough decisions about how to use your resources, and there's always a risk of things going wrong. But that's what makes it so exciting!
The game features a lot of great content, including new Conversation Cards, Terror Cards, Pivotal Events, and Abductors, each with unique rules and demands. I really enjoy the variety that this adds to the game, and it's always a different experience every time I play.
The game is challenging, but that's what makes it so rewarding. You can't expect to win every time, but the more you play, the better you'll get at strategizing and overcoming the challenges. It's a great feeling to pull off a win, especially after a close call.
I especially appreciate the thoughtful design of the game. The back of the playing board includes suggested set-ups for creating your own decks, which is a nice touch and allows for even more customization. The quality of the components is also great, with linen-finished cards, a sturdy board, and well-made dice.
If you're a fan of solo board games and enjoy tense decision-making, then Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave is definitely worth checking out. It's a game that will keep you on the edge of your seat and provide hours of entertainment.
