Holi: Festival of Colors
Holi: Festival of Colors review
Holi: Festival of Colors is a beautiful and unique game that I was excited to try after seeing it at Gen Con. The game is visually stunning, with colorful tokens and a three-dimensional board that really pops. The gameplay is simple to learn, but offers enough strategic depth to keep it interesting.
The game is all about throwing colored tokens around the board and trying to score points by covering your opponents with your color. The action selection system is interesting, with players choosing from a variety of cards that determine the pattern in which they can throw their tokens.
I really enjoy the rivalry cards, which add new rules and scoring conditions to the game. This makes each game feel fresh and exciting, and I'm always eager to see what new challenges these cards will present.
However, I do agree with some other reviewers that the setup and teardown of the game can be a bit cumbersome. It's not a huge deal, but it does take a bit more time than I'd like. I also have some concerns about the durability of the game, as the cardboard components are a bit flimsy. Hopefully, they'll hold up over time, but I'm a bit worried about them getting damaged during setup and teardown.
Overall, though, I think Holi: Festival of Colors is a great game. It's fun, visually appealing, and strategic, making it a great choice for any board game collection. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.
