Floor Plan
Floor Plan review
Floor Plan is a fun and engaging roll-and-write game where you become an architect designing houses for clients. Each round, you roll dice and use them to draw rooms, add features, and complete client demands. The game is simple to learn and quick to play, making it perfect for a casual game night or a solo gaming session.
I really enjoy the creative aspect of the game, and I love how the dice rolls can lead to some truly bizarre and hilarious house designs. I also appreciate the inclusion of diverse characters and the attention to gender-inclusive language on the client cards. It's great to see games that are embracing inclusivity and representation.
While I don't mind the luck element of the dice rolls, I do think the game could benefit from more endgame scoring options that take into account the overall design of the house. The current system feels a bit too focused on completing individual tasks, and it doesn't reward strategic building as much as it could.
Overall, I'd recommend Floor Plan to anyone looking for a light and entertaining roll-and-write game. It's quick to learn, easy to play, and has a lot of replayability. Just be prepared for some laughs as you try to create the most ridiculous (and hopefully functional) house you can!
