Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space
Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space review
Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space is a game that had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It's a card game of strategy and bluff set on a derelict spaceship where players try to escape from aliens or hunt humans.
The game is played on a hexagon-based map that represents the spaceship and each player marks their movements on a map with a dry-erase pen. You have to be really sneaky, using cards that let you lie about your position to keep the other players guessing. The tension is palpable as you try to avoid the aliens or hunt down the humans, and it's a lot of fun trying to figure out who is who. I love how the game balances the aliens and humans, and it's incredibly engaging.
The game includes multiple map zones, each with a unique layout and suggested player count, which adds a lot of replayability. You can even choose to play a "basic" or "advanced" game, with or without items and character abilities.
However, there are some minor downsides. The quality of the cards is just okay, and the box is a bit too small for sleeved cards. I also had to replace the dry-erase markers because they dried out quickly.
Overall, I think this is a great game for fans of hidden role/deduction games. It's full of tension, laughs, and strategy, and I highly recommend it for families and game groups. I'd probably suggest getting some extra dry-erase markers and sleeves, and you'll have a fantastic time!
