DropMix
DropMix review
I'm a big fan of music and board games, so when I heard about DropMix, I was immediately intrigued. The concept of mixing popular songs together to create mind-blowing mixes sounded right up my alley. I was a bit hesitant at first because of the price, but I eventually decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did.
The core gameplay is simple, but it's the music that truly shines. The mixes are mostly seamless and surprisingly good. I've had a lot of fun just freestyle mixing songs for hours on end. I've also enjoyed the competitive modes, which add a bit more strategy to the game.
The biggest drawback is the limited music library. The base game comes with 60 cards, but that doesn't mean 60 different songs. Many of the cards are parts of the same songs, so you'll quickly get bored of the song selection if you don't buy any expansion packs.
Despite the limited library, I think DropMix is a great game, especially if you can find it on sale. It's a great party game and a fun way to spend an evening with friends. I've been very impressed with the music mixing technology, and I hope Harmonix continues to develop the game in the future.
