Dragon's Breath review

Dragon's Breath is a charming game that's perfect for young children. The premise is simple: you're a little dragon trying to collect the most sparkling stones from a melting ice column. Each player chooses a color, then takes turns pulling a ring off the column, causing the gems to fall. You get to keep all the gems that match your color.

My three-year-old loves this game, and she even grasps the basic strategy of choosing the color that's most likely to fall. It's a great way to practice counting, colors, and taking turns. My six-year-old enjoys it too, but he's definitely ready for more complex games. The game itself is quite quick, usually lasting about 5-8 minutes, making it a perfect choice for short play sessions.

The components are well made, and the sturdy cardboard box is part of the game, which is a nice touch. I particularly like the wooden dragon dad figure. The holographic detail is a nice touch.

However, I do have a couple of minor complaints. The box is a bit flimsy and the ice rings can be a little tricky to stack. I also agree with some reviewers that the dragon figures are a bit too cartoonish compared to the lovely artwork on the board. Overall though, Dragon's Breath is a great game that's sure to be a hit with young kids. It's simple, engaging, and a nice way to introduce children to the joys of board games.
