Unmatched: Cobble & Fog
Unmatched: Cobble & Fog review
I recently picked up "Unmatched: Cobble & Fog" and I have to say, it's a great addition to the Unmatched series! I've been a fan of the system since the beginning and this expansion delivers on all fronts.
The four new heroes are all fantastic. Invisible Man's fog-based gameplay is truly unique and adds a layer of tactical depth. Sherlock and Watson's detective duo feels like a perfect fit for the game's theme, and their ability to scheme and manipulate the board is a lot of fun. Dracula and his sisters bring a spooky and challenging presence to the game, while Jekyll & Hyde offer a compelling contrast of strategy and brute force.
As always, the core mechanics of Unmatched are solid. The quick turns, asymmetrical heroes, and card-driven combat make for a dynamic and engaging experience. "Cobble & Fog" introduces some new mechanics like the sisters' shared health pool and Jekyll & Hyde's transformative abilities, which add even more depth to the game.
Overall, I highly recommend "Unmatched: Cobble & Fog" to anyone who enjoys miniature fighting games or the Unmatched series. It's a well-designed expansion with a great variety of heroes and strategies. If you're new to the series, this is a great starting point. Just be sure to check the language of the game before purchasing, as I understand there have been some instances where the game arrived in English instead of the desired language.
