Smash Up: What Were We Thinking?
Smash Up: What Were We Thinking? review
Smash Up: What Were We Thinking? is a great addition to the Smash Up universe. It's got some really fun, unique factions that play in a variety of ways, and it definitely adds some randomness and silliness to the game. I personally got this expansion for the Care Bears and Grannies factions, but I've enjoyed playing with the Rock Stars and Explorers as well. The Explorer faction is particularly fun with its ability to move quickly across the board and capitalize on base breaks. They even have a really cool ability called City of Gold that allows you to farm VP for a number of turns if you play your cards right. The Rock Stars are pretty balanced, but I think their art is really sick. The Teddies are a little weaker, but still a lot of fun to play with. The Grannies are probably the most straightforward faction, but they can pair well with decks that play cards from the top or bottom of their deck. I'd highly recommend picking this up if you can find it for under $20.
I've also heard great things about combining the Grannies with the Penguins faction, but I haven't had a chance to try that out yet. I'm really enjoying this expansion overall, and it's definitely made Smash Up more fun and unpredictable.
