Sheriff of Nottingham: 2nd Edition
Sheriff of Nottingham: 2nd Edition review
Sheriff of Nottingham: 2nd Edition is a delightful game that has quickly become a favorite in our household. We've played it with family and friends, and it always generates laughter and good-natured competition. The premise is simple: you're either a merchant trying to smuggle goods past the Sheriff or the Sheriff trying to catch them.
The game is easy to learn, and the rules are straightforward. You get a bag and fill it with goods, including some contraband if you're feeling bold. Then, you try to convince the Sheriff that you're not smuggling anything. It's a fun game of bluffing and deception, and it's always exciting to see who gets caught.
I particularly enjoyed the updated rules and expansions in this edition. The new Black Market cards, Sheriff's Deputies, and 6th Merchant add a new level of strategy and complexity. It keeps the game fresh and engaging, even after multiple playthroughs.
However, the bags, unfortunately, are a bit of a weak point. They're not very durable, and the buttons tend to fall out. I ended up just leaving them open, which worked well enough. But it's something to consider if you're looking for a game with high-quality components.
Overall, I highly recommend Sheriff of Nottingham: 2nd Edition. It's a fun, engaging game that's perfect for a game night with friends or family.
