Obscurio
Obscurio review
Obscurio is a captivating game that truly lives up to its hype. As a fan of Mysterium, I was immediately drawn to Obscurio's unique twist on the classic image-based communication game. It's a fresh take on the genre, adding an exciting element of deception with the inclusion of a traitor.
The artwork is exquisite, just as beautiful as Mysterium's, and the magnetic grimoire board is a clever touch. The game mechanics are simple to learn, especially if you're familiar with similar games like Werewolf or Avalon, but the strategic depth is what keeps me coming back for more. The traitor aspect adds a whole new dimension to the game, forcing players to question their teammates and make decisions based on limited information.
While I agree that Obscurio shines with a larger group, I found it still enjoyable with four players. My only reservation is that the game might not be as engaging for those who don't enjoy a bit of mystery and intrigue. The theme and atmosphere are key to the experience, and if you're not into the wizard-themed setting, you might find yourself less invested in the game.
Overall, Obscurio is a fantastic addition to any game collection. It's a well-crafted game with a fun and challenging twist. If you're looking for a new game that's both engaging and thought-provoking, I highly recommend Obscurio. It's a game I can confidently say I will enjoy for many years to come.
