Penny Press
Penny Press review
Penny Press is a delightful worker placement game set in the era of yellow journalism. I really enjoy the theme of the game, which is unique and well-executed. You take on the role of a newspaper magnate, competing to publish the most popular and influential newspaper in old New York City. The game is easy to learn, but has a surprising amount of depth. I love the decision making involved in assigning reporters to stories, deciding when to go to press, and trying to predict what stories will be most popular.
The components are high quality, and the artwork is very appealing. I especially appreciate the inclusion of real historical headlines on the newspaper cards. The game plays quickly, which makes it great for a casual game night. I've played with a variety of groups, and everyone has had a good time. If you're looking for a fun and engaging worker placement game with a unique theme, I highly recommend Penny Press.
