Pagan: Fate of Roanoke
Pagan: Fate of Roanoke review
I've been wanting to try Pagan: Fate of Roanoke for a while now, and I finally got my hands on it. I'm a sucker for asymmetrical games, and the witch vs. witch hunter premise really drew me in.
The components are solid, and the card art is gorgeous. I'm a sucker for art that pulls you into the game's theme, and this does a great job of that. The asymmetrical gameplay is really fun. The witch has to complete a ritual, while the hunter has to figure out who the witch is. This makes for some tense decisions, especially for the witch, who has to decide whether to reveal their identity to gain an advantage or play it safe. The replayability is also pretty good, as the card decks are variable, and the board changes each game.
I'm hoping that they release those expansions soon! The game is a bit short, and I could definitely see myself wanting to play more after the first time.
