Myth
Myth review
Myth is a game that I've had my eye on for a while, and I finally took the plunge and bought it. I'm glad I did, because it's a lot of fun. The game is fully cooperative, so there's no player controlling the Darkness. Instead, the Darkness is governed by a set of rules and is activated through the heroes' actions. This really lends a more fluid feel to the game, as the players aren't being driven by properties out of their control.
The game's production value is very high. The art is amazing, and the miniatures are well-made. The game is also very replayable, as you can create your own adventures. I've enjoyed playing it with friends, and it's definitely a game that I'll be playing for a long time to come.
However, the game does have some drawbacks. The rulebook is a bit cumbersome and not well-organized. It took me a while to learn the rules, and I still find myself needing to refer to them from time to time. Also, the game can be a bit pricey, even at a discount. And there are a lot of little bits and bobs to keep track of, which can be a bit annoying.
Overall, I would say that Myth is a great game for fans of fantasy dungeon crawlers. It's a lot of fun, and it's very replayable. But if you're looking for a game with a simple rulebook and a low price tag, this might not be the game for you. It definitely needs some improvements on the rules and organization, but if you are okay with figuring things out as you go and are comfortable with a little bit of ambiguity, then you'll likely find it to be a fun and rewarding experience.
