GoodCritters
GoodCritters review
GoodCritters is a fantastic game for those who enjoy a bit of social deduction and negotiation. The concept is simple: you're a gang of criminal critters who have just pulled off a heist, and now it's time to split the loot. The Boss gets to decide how to divide the loot, but if the rest of the crew doesn't like it, they can vote them out and choose a new Boss. This creates a fascinating dynamic where players have to carefully weigh their options: do they trust the current Boss to give them a fair share, or do they risk their own potential gains by voting for a new Boss?
I really appreciate how much this game encourages player interaction. You're constantly talking, strategizing, and trying to gauge what everyone else is thinking. It's a lot of fun to try to build alliances, bluff your way through a tough situation, and see if you can outsmart your fellow critters. The game also provides a good amount of replayability as the distribution of loot can change drastically from round to round, and the “Fuzz” (the police) can appear at any moment. This adds a level of excitement and uncertainty that keeps the game fresh and engaging.
If I had one minor complaint, it's the storage of the components, as some reviewers have noted. The box is a bit small for everything, so it might take a bit of organization to fit everything back in. However, this is a minor inconvenience and doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the game.
Overall, GoodCritters is a delightful, fun, and engaging game that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good social deduction game. It's a great option for a game night with friends or family, and it's sure to lead to some hilarious moments.
