DC Deck-Building Game: Rivals – Batman vs The Joker

I've been a fan of the DC Deck-Building Game for a while now, and I was excited to check out the new Rivals – Batman vs The Joker set. It's a streamlined version of the game, designed specifically for two players, with a focus on direct confrontation between the two iconic characters. I was a little hesitant at first, thinking it might be too simplified, but I was pleasantly surprised. The game is quick to learn and plays fast, which is perfect for a casual gaming session.

The "Confrontation" mechanic, which lets you attack your opponent directly, adds a new layer of strategy and tension. It definitely changes the way you play compared to the larger, multi-player sets. I found myself focusing more on building a deck that could either quickly defeat my opponent's character cards or rack up victory points. It's a fun change of pace.

If you're looking for a more intense, head-to-head experience, Rivals is definitely worth checking out. However, if you're a fan of the original DC Deck-Building Game and enjoy the broader card pool and variety, this might not be your cup of tea. It's more of a focused, streamlined experience for two players. But for those of us who love the DC universe and want a quick and engaging duel, this is a great addition to the series.
