Comic Hunters
Comic Hunters review
I was really excited to get my hands on "Comic Hunters" after seeing it pop up everywhere online. I'm a huge comic book fan, and the idea of collecting them in a board game sounded fantastic. The game itself is pretty fun. You draft cards to build collections of comics, and the gameplay is engaging. I especially like the clever use of real comic book covers in the game. It adds a lot of charm and nostalgia.
However, I have to agree with other reviewers about the production quality. The card stock feels cheap, and the tokens are flimsy. The worst part is that the comic book cards themselves are not cut properly. This seems to be a widespread issue, as multiple reviewers have mentioned it. The misaligned cuts are frustrating, especially since the art on the cards is so beautiful. It really detracts from the overall experience. I'm hoping that they'll release a second run of the game with better production quality.
Despite the quality issues, I still enjoyed playing "Comic Hunters". If you're a fan of comic books and drafting games, you might want to check it out, but be aware of the potential production problems.
