Bayonets & Tomahawks
Bayonets & Tomahawks review
I recently picked up "Bayonets & Tomahawks" and I have to say, I'm impressed. It's a card-driven strategic wargame that captures the essence of the French & Indian War in a really engaging way. The game's mechanics are well-designed and create a nice balance of complexity and realism. I especially appreciate the way the game handles Indian diplomacy and raids, adding another layer of strategic depth.
One of the things I like most about the game is its card system. It's unique in that you don't manage a hand of cards, but rather choose between two cards at the start of each action round. This adds an element of surprise and makes each round feel different.
The combat system takes some getting used to, as mentioned by another reviewer. It's a bit different from traditional wargame combat, but it does add a unique flavor to the game. The map is also a highlight, it looks really great.
Overall, "Bayonets & Tomahawks" is a well-crafted game that provides a fun and challenging experience. It's a great choice for solo players or those who want to experience the French & Indian War in a strategic and engaging way. Highly recommend!
