Battle Cry review

Battle Cry is a surprisingly engaging Civil War-themed board game that I recently picked up. I was drawn to it because of its low complexity, which makes it accessible to both experienced wargamers and casual players. The game uses a unique card-based system that allows for a variety of different orders to be given to your troops. This system, while simple, adds a layer of strategic depth that I found quite enjoyable.

The game's components are high quality, with sturdy terrain tiles and well-made plastic miniatures. The miniatures add a nice visual element to the game and really help bring the battles to life. I love how the game provides multiple scenarios based on real Civil War battles, allowing for a diverse and replayable experience. I found the game to be quite well-balanced, with neither side having a clear advantage.

While some reviewers mentioned missing components, I didn't experience this issue. The only minor complaint I have is that the initial setup time can be a bit long, especially if you're playing a new scenario. However, this is a small price to pay for the fun and engaging gameplay.

Overall, I highly recommend Battle Cry to anyone who enjoys wargames or historical games. It's a great game for both casual and experienced players, and it's sure to provide hours of fun. It's a refreshing take on the Civil War genre, and I'm glad I gave it a try.
