Transatlantic
Transatlantic review
Transatlantic is a fantastic maritime strategy game that really captures the spirit of the golden age of ocean liners. I was immediately drawn to the historical theme and the beautiful artwork, which really brings the era to life. From the moment you open the box, you feel like you're stepping back in time.
The game mechanics are clever and well-designed, offering a deep and engaging experience. I love that you need to carefully balance your resources, managing your fleet, buying new ships, and strategically securing valuable trade routes. The game is tough, but in a rewarding way that forces you to think strategically and make difficult choices.
One of the things that sets Transatlantic apart is the focus on building your individual deck of cards, which allows for lots of flexibility and customization. The card play is dynamic, and I love the way new cards are introduced as the game progresses, keeping things fresh and exciting.
The only minor issue I have is the colors of the cards. They can be a little difficult to distinguish in normal indoor lighting, which can be frustrating at times. However, this is a small gripe in an otherwise stellar game.
Overall, Transatlantic is a must-have for any fan of strategy games with a historical bent. If you're looking for a challenging and engaging experience that will keep you coming back for more, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won't regret it!
