Notre Dame
Notre Dame review
Notre Dame is a game that I really enjoyed, and I think it's a worthy addition to any board game collection. I'm drawn to games with a lot of strategic depth, and this game has it in spades. It’s a light-to-medium weight eurogame that's easy to learn but offers a lot of replayability. I was immediately impressed by the art and the components. The game board is a beautiful piece of artwork, and the card illustrations are well-done. I particularly like the way the plague mechanic adds tension to the game. I find it really compelling to have to make tough choices about how to manage resources and allocate influence. There are many different ways to score points, so each game plays out differently. I also really like how the game scales well with different player counts.
However, I must say that I found the instructions to be a bit overwhelming at first. It took a few plays to really understand the game’s nuances. There are also some aspects of the game that could be considered random. For example, the person cards that are drawn each round can have a big impact on the game. However, the game is still very much about player choices and strategy. I think this game is a must-have for anyone who enjoys eurogames. I’ve played it with my friends and family, and everyone has loved it! I highly recommend Notre Dame!
