Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem
Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem review
I recently picked up "Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem" and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. The game does a great job of capturing the feel of the TV show, and the mechanics are surprisingly deep for a game that's relatively easy to learn.
The game is essentially an area control/worker placement game where you play as rival biker gangs vying for control of territory, resources, and ultimately, money. It's a lot of fun trying to outmaneuver your opponents and build up your gang's influence. The game is full of tension and intrigue, and I've had some hilarious moments where alliances were made and then promptly broken.
The game is definitely worth the price, especially if you can find it on sale. The components are great, and the game is very replayable thanks to the randomized setup and different factions/locations.
I've seen a few reviews that complain about the game being missing the Black Market card. This seems to be a common problem, but I was able to contact the manufacturer and they quickly resolved the issue. I'm also really bummed that the expansion was scrapped, but I understand that it didn't sell well. I guess that's the risk you take when you buy a game based on a license.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys area control games, negotiation games, or even just fans of the show. It's a lot of fun and I think it's a really well-designed game.
