Risk: Godstorm
Risk: Godstorm review
Risk: Godstorm is a fascinating twist on the classic Risk game, adding a whole new level of depth and complexity. The game board is beautifully designed and features a detailed map of the ancient world, including Atlantis. I particularly enjoy the addition of the Underworld, which allows defeated units to fight again, and the inclusion of Gods who can be summoned to aid your cause. The new elements of the game, like the Plague Lands and Miracle cards, keep things interesting and add a lot of strategic options. I find the inclusion of Faith points and Miracle cards to be a brilliant addition, adding a whole new layer of strategy.
However, I've found that the game can be somewhat complex to learn, with a lot of rules and mechanics to keep track of. The rulebook has also been criticized for being somewhat unclear in places. I would definitely recommend playing with people who are familiar with Risk and are comfortable with strategy games.
Overall, I think Risk: Godstorm is a great addition to the Risk family. It’s a much more involved and strategic game than the original, and it offers a lot of replayability with its various game modes and God cards. If you’re a fan of Risk and you’re looking for a new challenge, I highly recommend giving Risk: Godstorm a try. It's a great game to play with friends and family who enjoy a good dose of competition and a healthy amount of strategic thinking.
