Priests of Ra
Priests of Ra review
Priests of Ra is a clever rework of the classic game, Ra. The game mechanics are mostly the same, but the scoring tiles are completely different and introduce a new element of strategy. I really enjoyed the two-sided scoring tiles, which force you to make tough decisions about what you want to make available for yourself and your opponents. The artwork is nice, and the components are well-made, although I did notice some printing errors on a few of the pieces.
The game plays over three epochs, and each round ends when the Sun of Ra track is filled. This creates a sense of urgency and tension as you race to build up your resources and score points. I found the auction system to be well-balanced and engaging, and I like how it forces you to weigh the risks and rewards of bidding on different tiles.
Overall, I think Priests of Ra is a great game for families and experienced gamers alike. It's challenging, strategic, and fun, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good game of resource management and auctioning.
