Marrakech
Marrakech review
Marrakech is a fun, fast-paced game that's easy to learn and enjoyable for all ages. The concept is simple: you're a rug salesperson trying to outwit your competitors by strategically placing your carpets on the board. Each turn involves rotating the game's "Assam" figure and then moving him forward based on a die roll. If Assam lands on another player's carpet, you have to pay them a coin, adding a layer of strategy and tension to the gameplay.
What I love about Marrakech is its simplicity. It's quick to learn and doesn't require a lot of setup, making it perfect for a casual game night. The colorful carpets and beautifully crafted board add to the visual appeal, making it even more engaging. I also appreciate how well it plays with both two and four players, with the rules for two-player games actually enhancing the game's strategy.
While the game itself is fantastic, a few things to note: Some reviewers mentioned that one color of the rugs has only 14/15 pieces, which could be an issue for larger groups. Also, a couple of reviewers reported receiving damaged or incomplete boxes. While these are unfortunate occurrences, it seems like the game itself is still widely enjoyed, and I haven't experienced these issues personally.
Overall, Marrakech is a great game for family fun and game nights. It's easy to pick up, offers some strategic depth, and is a good choice for all ages. The vibrant design and engaging gameplay make it a winner in my book!
