Junta: Viva el Presidente! review

Junta: ¡Viva el Presidente! is a classic board game that I was excited to try, but unfortunately, my experience was a bit disappointing. I purchased the German edition, which was not clearly indicated in the product description. This made the game difficult to understand for players who don't speak German. While I was able to find the English instructions online, the game still felt quite cumbersome and lacked the engaging elements I expected.

The game play itself felt a bit tedious. Even with the "expert rule" (which added some complexity), the overall enjoyment was limited. I found the lack of consequences for attacking players to be quite strange and made the gameplay feel less meaningful. Also, the small number of cards meant we had to shuffle the discard pile frequently, which was a bit annoying.

However, I did see some positive aspects in other reviews. The game seems to be more enjoyable when played with a group of friends who are willing to engage in the political intrigue. And, despite the language barrier, the game itself arrived in great condition.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Junta: ¡Viva el Presidente! unless you are fluent in German or have access to an English translation. While it may be entertaining with the right group, I found it to be a bit lackluster and frustrating. There are many other board games out there that offer more engaging gameplay and thought-provoking challenges.
