Insider
Insider review
Insider is a small game that packs a punch. It's a social deduction game that puts you in the role of a "commoner" trying to guess a secret word, or the "insider" who knows the word but has to steer the conversation without giving themselves away. It's a lot of fun, and I love the concept. I've brought this game to several parties and it's been a hit every time. The rules are easy to learn, and the game is quick and easy to set up. The game is very much like a game of "20 questions" with a hidden role mechanic. You have to be a good thinker, and you have to be a good liar if you want to be the insider! The game is very much like "Spyfall" in the sense that the insider knows the hidden information but has to be careful not to give it away, but it's a lot less pressure because you're not trying to fit in. You have to steer the conversation in the right direction, which the timer really helps with. The components are great, and the game is very small and portable - I can easily take it with me to any gathering. If you're looking for a fun, quick, and easy-to-learn party game, I highly recommend Insider.
