Ingenious
Ingenious review
Ingenious is a game that's easy to learn but hard to master. It's a simple game of placing domino-style tiles on a board, scoring points for each line of colored symbols you complete. However, the catch is that your score is based on your lowest-scoring color, not your highest, so you need to score for all colors instead of specializing in just one or two.
I really enjoy the strategic aspect of the game. You have to be mindful of not only your own scoring but also how your opponents' pieces might affect your score. I've found it's particularly interesting to see how players try to block certain colors to limit your scoring options.
The game also has a great replayability factor. The board layout changes with each game, so there's always a new challenge.
While some reviewers have complained about the plastic components and scoring system, I personally haven't had any issues with them. The plastic tiles are sturdy and the scoring system, while not perfect, does the job. I've even played with my family members, including my seven-year-old niece, who enjoys it a lot!
Overall, I highly recommend Ingenious. It's a fun and strategic game that's perfect for a quick game night with friends or family.
