Clinic: Deluxe Edition review

I recently had the chance to check out Clinic: Deluxe Edition, and I'm pretty impressed with what's on offer. The game's premise is simple: you're building a clinic, vying for patients, and trying to be the best in town. But beneath that simplicity lies a strategic game with plenty of interesting decisions to make.

I particularly enjoyed the new rules in the Deluxe Edition. They're totally rewritten, making the game feel fresh and engaging. The two set-ups for beginners and experts are a nice touch, allowing players of all skill levels to jump in. I also appreciate the inclusion of a solo variant – it's great to have the option to play on your own.

One thing that really stood out was the quality of the components. The wooden laser cut meeples for the cars, doctors, staff, and nurses are beautiful and add a nice touch of tactile delight.

The game isn't without its quirks. Some of the bonuses and penalties can be a bit fiddly, and the turn order can be a bit confusing at first. However, once you get the hang of it, the gameplay is rewarding and surprisingly deep.

Overall, I highly recommend Clinic: Deluxe Edition to anyone looking for a strategic and engaging game that offers a good deal of replayability. Just be aware that the game is a bit complex, so it might not be the best choice for casual gamers.
