Asara review

Asara is a really fun and engaging game that's easy to learn but has enough depth to keep you coming back for more. The concept is simple: you're a wealthy builder competing to create the most impressive towers in the city. You do this by acquiring building pieces, money, and special cards throughout the game. Each turn, you play a card to an action space, and the color of your card dictates the color of all subsequent cards played in that space. The game's tension comes from deciding when to snag the building pieces you need, when to focus on getting more money, and when to utilize the powerful abilities of special cards.

I really like the way the game balances luck and strategy. You'll need a bit of good fortune to get the right cards, but your success ultimately comes down to your ability to anticipate your opponents' moves and make smart choices about how to spend your resources. I also appreciate the variety of scoring options. You can focus on building the most towers, the tallest towers, or the most towers of a specific color. This gives the game a lot of replayability, as you can experiment with different strategies each time you play.

While I enjoyed the game, some people have mentioned that it can feel a bit competitive. The rules do encourage players to block each other from getting the resources they need. But I think it's a good type of competition that keeps the game exciting. It's not so cutthroat that it makes the game feel hostile.

Overall, I'd highly recommend Asara to anyone looking for a quick-playing, strategic game with a beautiful aesthetic. It's great for families, couples, or even a group of friends. I found myself wanting to play again and again, and I'm sure you will too!
