Yomi (Second Edition) review

Yomi (second edition) is a fantastic card game that truly captures the essence of a fighting game. I've been playing it with my son and we've had a blast. It's definitely not for everyone, though. If you're on the fence, I recommend checking out the "Round 1" set first as it has more straightforward characters.

The gameplay is incredibly engaging. Each character has a unique deck of cards, and you really need to learn the ins and outs of each one to master the game. The way the cards are designed and the combat system is reminiscent of a fighting game, with attacks, blocks, dodges, combos, and special moves. It's all about reading your opponent's patterns and making the right plays at the right time.

I especially appreciate the "Bluff" phase, where you can try to fool your opponent by playing a Joker card to avoid taking damage. It adds a layer of strategy and deception to the game.

If you're looking for a tense and rewarding card game that truly pushes your strategic thinking, Yomi is a must-try.
