Wise and Otherwise
Wise and Otherwise review
I've always been a fan of games that involve wordplay, and Wise and Otherwise has quickly become a favorite. It's like a more cerebral version of Balderdash, where you have to complete proverbs from around the world, and then try to convince your friends that your made-up ending is the real one. It's a hilarious way to test your creative writing skills and learn a little bit about proverbs from different cultures.
The game comes with a huge collection of proverbs, so you're unlikely to repeat any anytime soon. I especially love how the sayings are often surprising and unpredictable, leading to some truly hilarious moments. We've had plenty of times where people were in tears laughing at the absurd answers we came up with.
I wouldn't recommend this game for two players; it's definitely more fun with a group of three or more. But if you have a group of friends who love a good laugh and a little bit of friendly competition, Wise and Otherwise is definitely worth checking out.
One thing I will say, though, is that the game can sometimes slow down when players are trying to come up with witty answers. It can be frustrating to wait for everyone to finish, but it's part of the game. Overall, it's a great game to play with friends and family. It's always a fun and engaging way to spend an evening.
