Summoner Wars review

Summoner Wars is a game that I've been wanting to try for a while, and I finally got around to picking up the Master Set. I was really impressed with the game, and I think it's definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of strategic card games.

The game is very easy to learn, but there's a lot of depth to the strategy. It's essentially a chess game with a fantasy twist, where you're trying to outmaneuver your opponent and destroy their summoner. I found the factions to be very well-balanced, and each one has its own unique playstyle. This keeps the game interesting, as you can try out different factions and see which one you like best.

One of the things I really like about Summoner Wars is that it's not a collectible card game (CCG). You don't need to spend a ton of money on booster packs to get the best cards. Instead, you can buy expansion packs with different factions, and you get all the cards you need to play that faction. This makes the game very accessible, and it means you can build your collection without breaking the bank.

The components are also very good. The board is high quality, and the cards are sturdy. The dice are standard, but they're fine for the game. However, I do agree with other reviewers that the box is a little disappointing. It's not as organized as it could be, and it doesn't have any sections for your cards. However, this isn't a deal breaker, as you can easily find a way to organize your decks and store the game.

Overall, I think Summoner Wars is a great game that's perfect for two players. It's fun, strategic, and accessible, and it's definitely a game I recommend checking out.
