Portobello Market review

Portobello Market is a fun and engaging game that's perfect for families and experienced gamers alike. The game's premise is simple: you're trying to secure the best spots in the market to build your stalls. But the execution is where the game really shines. The strategy involved in placing your stalls, cutting off your opponents, and grabbing the most profitable alleys is truly captivating.

I especially loved the beautiful design of the game, with its gorgeous wooden markers. The game also does a great job of cultivating strategic thinking and an understanding of basic economics. I even managed to get my son interested, who normally hates board games! The game is quick to learn, and the gameplay is surprisingly deep, with plenty of opportunities for tactical maneuvering.

However, I do agree with some of the reviewers who found the instructions a little more complex than the actual gameplay. It took a bit of time to fully grasp the rules, and some of them could have been explained more clearly. Also, while the game offers a nice blend of strategy and luck, it's definitely more on the strategy side. This is a good thing for seasoned gamers, but it might not be as enjoyable for players who prefer a more balanced experience.

Overall, Portobello Market is a solid addition to any board game collection. It's a fun and engaging game that's sure to please both families and experienced gamers. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve with the rules.
