Mycelia
Mycelia review
Mycelia has quickly become a favorite in our household. It's a deck-building game with a charming mushroom theme that's easy to pick up but has enough depth to keep things interesting. The artwork is absolutely delightful, and the game components are well-made. The game mechanics are simple to learn, and I especially appreciate the double-sided player boards for added variability.
We love that Mycelia can be played solo or with up to four players, making it great for a variety of gaming situations. The game is quick to set up and play, usually wrapping up in about 30-45 minutes. It's the perfect game for a casual game night or a quick pick-up-and-play session.
Some reviews mention the game being a bit simple, but I think that's a strength, especially for newer board game players or those who just want a relaxing game. However, if you're looking for a deep strategic challenge, you might find Mycelia a bit lacking.
A few reviewers mentioned the card sleeves. I agree, card sleeves are definitely a good idea to keep the cards in good shape. I do wish the box had a better organizer, but that's a minor quibble. Overall, we are thrilled with Mycelia and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys deck-building games, especially those who are looking for something quick, easy, and fun.
