HeroClix
HeroClix review
HeroClix is a fun and engaging game for comic book fans and collectors. I've been playing for a while now and I've always enjoyed the variety of characters and the strategic combat. The combat dial system is unique and adds a layer of depth to the gameplay. I've had some good experiences with this product, but I've also run into a few issues.
One issue I've encountered is the quality of the older figures. Some of the figures are quite fragile and can be prone to breaking, especially when the set is as old as this one. This is something to keep in mind when purchasing older sets, and it might be worthwhile to purchase a modern set if you're worried about the quality of the figures.
Another issue I've had is with the "H" style dials on some of the older figures. They can be quite difficult to click, which can be frustrating during gameplay. Some of the dials are easier to spin, but a majority of them are difficult. While this doesn't affect the gameplay too much, it can be frustrating when trying to quickly make a move or use an ability. You also won't find any character cards in older sets. The good news is that you don't really need them, as the keyword colors are still present on the dials.
I've also encountered some quality control issues with some of the sets. Some of the figures have been damaged or broken, with glue being dried on the dial or even missing a leg. This is something to be aware of, and it might be worthwhile to purchase a set from a reputable seller or to carefully inspect the figures before you purchase them.
Overall, I would still recommend HeroClix to anyone who is interested in a tactical combat miniatures game, especially those who enjoy comics and superheroes. Just be aware of the potential for quality control issues and the challenges associated with older sets.
