Catan: Junior review

Catan Junior is a great way to introduce younger kids to the world of strategic board games. It's a simplified version of the classic Settlers of Catan, with a pirate theme that my kids really enjoy. The game is easy to learn, with clear rules and simple mechanics. The colorful board and pieces are visually appealing and help keep the kids engaged.

One of the things I like best about Catan Junior is that it's a quick game, typically taking about 30 minutes to play. This is perfect for kids with short attention spans. It also has a nice table presence, which is important for getting kids excited about playing.

While the plastic pieces are a bit flimsy, I appreciate that they're sturdy enough for kids and make the game more affordable. The cardboard resources are thick and well-made, and the game overall feels high quality.

One minor complaint I have is that the insert isn't ideal for storing the pieces. I've ended up buying some small baggies to keep everything organized. However, I do think it's a small price to pay for a game that's so much fun for the whole family.

Overall, I highly recommend Catan Junior for families with kids ages 5 and up. It's a great way to introduce them to strategy games and it's fun for adults to play as well.
