Rat-a-Tat Cat review

Rat-a-Tat Cat is a simple card game that's surprisingly engaging for all ages. We bought it based on a recommendation from our local toy shop and haven't looked back. It's perfect for a quick game with young kids (our 4-year-old picked it up right away!), and still holds a bit of strategy for adults. It's the kind of game that gets pulled out at every family gathering, and even my older kids enjoy playing it with the younger ones. The game is super easy to learn, and the rounds move quickly, making it ideal for keeping everyone entertained.

The goal is to have the lowest score at the end of the round. You draw cards and try to swap out your high-numbered "rat" cards for lower-numbered "cat" cards. There are also a few action cards that add a bit of intrigue, like the "Swap" card that lets you steal a card from another player! The game teaches basic math skills, memory, and even a little bit of poker face. It's also great for practicing strategy and decision-making.

I've been impressed by the quality of the game. It's definitely built to last, and we've had ours for years with no issues. The box is also a nice size for travel and storage. The only small complaint is the "6" card, which has a giant cat balloon being led by rats. It's a little confusing since it's meant to be a "rat" card. But overall, Rat-a-Tat Cat is a great, fun game that's perfect for families. I highly recommend it!
