Genoa review

Genoa: A Review

Genoa, originally published as The Traders of Genoa, is a game of Renaissance trading and negotiation. Players move around the city, acquiring goods and filling orders, all while trying to become the richest trader in town. I've been playing board games for years, and I have to say, this one is a real gem.

The game is all about communication and negotiation. You'll be working with other players to get the resources you need and fulfill orders. There's a lot of back-and-forth, and the game can get pretty intense, but it's always fun. I find it to be a fantastic game for groups that enjoy a good dose of strategy and social interaction. It's not for the faint of heart, though! There are some complex rules and a lot of strategy involved.

I've heard some players complain about the changes made in the newer version of the game. While I agree that the cardboard chits replacing the resource cubes do make the game a bit less visually appealing, they also make it much easier to keep track of what you have. Ultimately, the gameplay is still the same, and I think the clarity of the chits outweighs the loss of the cubes.

I've enjoyed playing Genoa, and I think it's a great game for people who enjoy complex strategy games with a social element. It's definitely not for everyone, but if you're looking for a game that will challenge you and keep you entertained, Genoa is worth checking out.
