Asteroyds Review

Asteroyds is a game that immediately caught my eye due to its comparison to RoboRally. As a big fan of that game, I was curious to see how Asteroyds would stand out on its own. And stand out it does! The game has a unique system where the playing field is constantly in motion, thanks to the rolling of dice that dictate the movement of asteroids. This adds a level of unpredictability that keeps you on your toes, and it's really satisfying when your carefully crafted plan actually comes to fruition.

I particularly enjoyed the real-time aspect of planning your moves. The pressure to quickly devise a strategy within the time limit adds a thrilling dimension to the game. I found the recommended minute to be just right, providing enough time to think things through without feeling rushed. The advanced rules, like shooting and pilot powers, offer plenty of replayability and add depth to the gameplay. I also appreciate the inclusion of various play modes, which cater to different preferences and allow for both individual and team play.

However, it's not without its flaws. The game can be quite chaotic at times, especially for new players, and the constant movement can be overwhelming. But once you get the hang of the mechanics, it becomes a truly enjoyable experience. Overall, Asteroyds is a well-designed and exciting game that's sure to appeal to fans of racing and strategy games. If you're looking for something different from RoboRally but with a similar feel, then Asteroyds is definitely worth checking out.
