Industria review

Industria Review

Industria is a complex economic engine building game that reminded me of Power Grid, but unfortunately not in a good way. While the concept of building factories and developing technology is intriguing, the execution felt clunky and the game lacked the engaging strategic depth I'd hoped for.

The auction system, while novel, was ultimately frustrating. The constant bidding and the pressure to outbid your opponents for the right resources felt more like a chore than a strategic challenge. I especially disliked the rule about the auctioneer being forced to take a card if no one bids, as this often led to players being stuck with undesirable cards simply because they didn't have enough money.

Additionally, the lack of a translated board was a major obstacle for us. With such a complex game, being able to understand the board and the various icons was crucial. The game felt unnecessarily difficult to learn due to this, which took away from our overall enjoyment.

While the game does have a unique bidding system and the concept of optimizing your production chain for points is interesting, the overall experience felt more tedious than engaging. If you're looking for a complex economic game, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
