Cosmic Encounter review

Cosmic Encounter is a game that has been a staple in my game group for years, and for good reason. It’s a wild, chaotic, and hilarious experience that’s always different each time you play. You take on the role of an alien race, each with its own unique power that can bend the rules of the game in unexpected ways.

The core gameplay involves challenging other players to take control of their planets, and the real fun comes from the interactions and alliances (and betrayals!) that develop between players. It’s a game where negotiation and diplomacy are just as important as strategy.

The new version of Cosmic Encounter features updated components, including plastic ships and a clearer rulebook. The art is much improved from previous editions, and it really helps bring the game to life.

The game is certainly not for everyone. It can be a bit overwhelming to learn at first, and it’s definitely more enjoyable with a group of people who are willing to embrace the chaos and the occasional rule-bending. However, if you’re looking for a game that’s full of surprises, laughter, and unexpected twists, then Cosmic Encounter is a must-try.
